About

Built by a Builder

Not an IT department. Not a startup. An operator who automates his own workflows and forges them for others.

The Origin

From the field to the Forge

Forge Cloud started in Greensboro, NC. Joseph Thompson — twenty years in construction and engineering, running a one-man operation — was doing the work of a full office: proposals, orders, emails, coordination with builders and title companies. The problem was never skill. It was bandwidth. One person can only context-switch so many times before things slip through the cracks.

So he built tools. An email processor that triaged thousands of messages. A proposal engine that quoted in seconds. Agents that worked while he drove between job sites. The first full platform built on the Forge automated an entire land-surveying operation — real deadlines, real clients, real money — and it runs production work every day.

Forge Cloud is what comes next: the same architecture, the same iron, forged for any business that runs on too few people and too much paperwork.

Philosophy

The forge metaphor

A forge doesn't just heat metal. It transforms raw material into something useful, precise, and durable. That's what this infrastructure does with compute power.

The Forge

The hardware

Workstation-class iron — a Threadripper platform with 128GB of ECC memory and dual RTX GPUs. Raw power, running 24/7.

The Tools

The software

Named agents, voice pipelines, camera intelligence, automation — 20+ tools that shape raw power into useful work.

The Smith

The person

The one who built it, uses it daily, and customizes it for every client. Not a generic IT consultant — an operator who understands the work.

what an agent actually is
# What most people think AI agents are: ChatGPT with a name. A toy that's fun for a week. # What Forge Cloud agents actually are: isolated environment + named identity + git-tracked workspace + recovery kit + conversational control = a teammate you can trust over time.
Architecture

The technical foundation

Every deployment follows the same battle-tested architecture. Proven in production. Running 24/7.

Infrastructure

Isolated by design

Proxmox hypervisor, client workloads isolated with dedicated resources, Tailscale VPN mesh, automated backups.

AI Stack

Local-first routing

Tiered model routing — fast local models for most work, frontier models only where reasoning demands it, and only if you opt in.

Security

Hardened & separated

Per-client isolation, egress control, encrypted tunnels, credentials never shared between environments.

Automation

Self-operating

Provisioning, onboarding, health monitoring, backup management — the platform runs itself the way it runs your work.

Monitoring

Watched constantly

Real-time health checks and alerts. Problems get caught by the system before you notice them.

Billing

Flat & predictable

Clean monthly billing. No usage surprises, no per-seat creep, no invoice archaeology.

The Moat

What can't be copied

01

Operator expertise

Every tool here is built by someone who runs a business on it daily — not a vendor who demos it. IT companies don't understand your paperwork. We live in it.

02

Tools that live on the Forge

Agents, pipelines, and products forged per client. They live on the Forge — or on your on-site install — as part of the subscription. They can't be copied off a shelf, because there's no shelf.

03

Direct relationship

No ticket queues. No tier-1 support reading a script. Call the person who built the system. One owner. One relationship. Complete accountability.
